Today, ETAD submitted to ECHA its contribution to the Consultation on the revision of the definition of nanomaterials. Some specific points we underlined and commented on are:
- the possibility to specify that nanomaterials should be solid and insoluble;
- the possibility to introduce the mass size distribution at least as an additional parameter to the number size distribution;
- the relative low value of the VSSA as a tool for identifying nananomaterials;
- the uncertainty about the future of our nanomaterials, in case specific “nano data” requests for actually very well characterized products become too high.
