Benefits for Members
ETAD is recognized by regulatory authorities, customers, and the public as the authoritative source of information on health, safety, and environmental issues relating to organic colorants.
Our members have access to one of the most comprehensive databases of literature pertaining to the health and environmental aspects of dyes. We also undertake research and testing programs that help us to better understand the health and environmental impacts of dyes and organic pigments. The results of this research are made available to ETAD members.
Advocacy
An important role for ETAD is to represent the interests of our members and customers to:
- Government authorities
- Other industries and organized labor
- The media and public interest groups
- Academia
- Research, testing, and consulting organizations
Where regulations are necessary we advocate harmonized requirements so the compliance costs for our members are reduced.
Guidance
Our code of ethics encourages members to adhere to high ethical standards so that we protect our reputation as a responsible and safety-minded manufacturing industry. We also provide guidance to member companies on the interpretation of new regulatory requirements.
Education, training, information
ETAD develops and publishes educational and training materials pertaining to organic colorants (such as, safe handling practices, product stewardship, and pollution prevention). A key part of our work is to respond to enquiries about the dye and colourant industry from other organizations, government authorities and members of the public. We provide a wide range of information on topical issues and publish specific comments and position papers.
