The committee will focus on local activities in contact with regulatory bodies on all legislation developments affecting the colorant industry. Future committee meetings will be held Shanghai and the working language of this committee is Chinese.

ETAD is glad to welcome Matex International Limited as a new regular member. The company, based in Singapore, offers a range of products for textile applications going from reactive dyes, pigments, and disperse dyes to optical brightening agents and specialties for pre-treatment, dyeing, printing and finishing.
ETAD’s metal limits for organic pigments are used as a reference for textile applications in compliance with the ZDHC MRSL. To simplify the communication with our members' customers we create a specific document as quick reference for this purpose. It can be downloaded directly here or from our publications page.
As part of its activities aimed to identify substances of concern ECHA recently screened many chemical structures using various prediction tools, and summarized the results in an inventory of chemicals evaluated as potentially meeting the criteria of Annex III to the REACH Regulation. Among the screened substances are several dyes. ETAD prepared a communication on this topic as a quick reference to clarify the actual effect of the listing on the status of those dyes.
Together with its member companies, ETAD has updated its analytical Method 212 (Edition May 3rd, 2016) “Identification and Quantification of Primary Aromatic Amines in Organic Pigments by HPLC”. The updated version allows a more precise quantification of residual PAAs.

ETAD is glad to welcome Hubei Color Root Technology Co., Ltd. as a new regular member. The company, based in China, is specialized in development and production of reactive dyestuffs for textile applications.
We are pleased to announce that the ISO technical committee 256 has accepted ETAD‘s PCB Method (ETAD Method 229) as a new work item proposal. It will be dealt with in the working group 3 and discussed during its upcoming November meeting.
We are proud to welcome Yorkshire Chemicals Ltd as a new ETAD member. Among others, Yorkshire Chemicals is spezialized in manufacturing reactive, disperse, acid and basic dyes.
During ETAD’s General Assembly in May 2016, member companies approved unanimously a stricter version of the association’s Code of Ethics. In its new version, the Code of Ethics requires that all dyes sold by ETAD’s members for consumer applications have to comply with limits for heavy metals, potential aromatic amines from reductive cleavage and other organic impurities.
ETAD is glad to welcome Meghmani Dyes and Intermediates Ltd as a new member. The company, based in India, is a dyes manufacturer, with a sortiment including reactive, vat, acid, solvent, and leather dyes as well as petroleum dyes and wood stains.
ETAD is glad to welcome Hwa Tai Industry as its first associate member. The company, based in Thailand, is a subsidiary of the Siam Pro Dyechem Group and its product portfolio includes both dyes and pigments.
